In my youth I often drew graphite portraits, but it wasn’t until 2011 that I started painting in acrylics.
For the time being, portraits were in the foreground as well as views of cities and buildings – all in a
pop art style. These quickly became so popular that I got many orders and decided to set up my own
website, popartizer.com. However, over time pop art was not enough for me and I wanted to learn
more about painting. So I attended the Europ\u00e4ische Kunstakademie in Trier, where I studied acrylic
painting under Mick Starke and portraiture and attended courses by Joe Allen and Roland Satlow.
Since that time, my artistic possibilities and my repertoire have continuously expanded. In my
Popart-paintings I am mainly interested in the contrasts: where are the light and shadows… how do I
increase the sharpness of the picture… how do I achieve distance or closeness… While many of my
subsequent paintings were mostly realistic, relatively photo-accurate, I now reduce the level of detail
in favor of simplicity and demand more imagination from the viewer.
In a special project two years ago I created or painted a series of 10 pictures on the NLP assumptions.
(NLP is an acronym for Neuro-Linguistic Programming. NLP is both a collection of powerful personal

In meiner Jugend hatte ich \u00f6fters Graphit-Portr\u00e4ts gezeichnet, doch erst 2011 begann ich mit der
Acrylmalerei. Vorerst standen Portr\u00e4ts im Vordergrund sowie Ansichten von St\u00e4dten und Geb\u00e4uden \u2013
alles in einem Popart-Stil. Diese waren schnell so popul\u00e4r, dass ich viele Auftr\u00e4ge bekam und
beschloss, meine eigenen Website popartizer.com einzurichten. Im Laufe der Zeit war mir Popart
jedoch nicht mehr genug, und ich wollte mehr lernen \u00fcber die Malerei. So besuchte ich die
Europ\u00e4ische Kunstakademie in Trier, wo ich Acrylmalerei bei Mick Starke und Portr\u00e4tmalerei
studierte und Kurse besuchte bei Joe Allen und Roland Satlow.
Seit dieser Zeit haben sich meine k\u00fcnstlerischen M\u00f6glichkeiten und mein Repertoire kontinuierlich
erweitert. An meinen Popart-Bildern interessieren mich haupts\u00e4chlich die Kontraste: wo liegen Licht
und Schatten\u2026 wie erh\u00f6he ich die Bildsch\u00e4rfe\u2026 wie erreiche ich Distanz oder N\u00e4he\u2026 Waren viele
meiner folgenden Bilder meist realistisch, relativ fotogetreu, so reduziere ich Detailtreue inzwischen
zugunsten von Einfachheit und fordere vom Betrachter mehr Fantasie.
In einem besonderen Projekt hatte ich vor zwei Jahren eine Reihe von 10 Bildern zu den NLP-
Vorannahmen kreiert bzw. gemalt. (NLP steht als Abk\u00fcrzung f\u00fcr Neurolinguistisches Programmieren.
NLP ist sowohl eine Sammlung sehr effektiver Werkzeuge zur pers\u00f6nlichen Ver\u00e4nderung als auch
